Description
This position is responsible for the direction, development and effectiveness of the overall Qix business line. It manages business line strategy, process performance, and team effectiveness. The Director, Qix, makes recommendations and implements solutions to scale systems to meet new business demands. A person in this position will need a big-picture vision and drive to make the vision a reality.
Key Responsibilities
Include:

Work with senior management to formulate business objectives

Work closely with sales staff to reach revenue objectives

Manage a team of product managers, software developers and testers

forecast financial, physical and human resources needs to meet established objectives

Provide leadership to the development and product management groups

Drive a solution set across developments, QA, sales, professional services, and marketing communications, guided by market requirements

Review progress of each operational group to ensure release plan is on-track
-
Supervise the managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
-
Monitor market requirements by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to both customers and non-customers

Judge potential partner relationships for the product

Monitor and analyze market developments, both competitive and technical

Own the budget for development and product management activities
Skills and Qualifications
- Computer Science, Bachelor of Commerce or Engineering Degree (MBA an asset)
- 7-10 years business experience within the software industry
- Minimum 3 years experience in a leadership role
- Wireless industry experience a definite asset
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Self-directed and self-motivated
- Capability to work in multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent presentation and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively gather information from disparate sources and determine correct courses of action
- Able to work flexible hours with occasional travel internationally
