Zi Corporation signs with Chabridge at Team Canada trade mission
Calgary, AB (February 13, 2001) - Zi Corporation (NASDAQ: ZICA) (TSE: ZIC) has signed a licensing and royalty agreement as a part of the Team Canada trade mission to China. In a signing ceremony in Beijing, Zi Corporation chairman and CEO, Michael Lobsinger and Chabridge deputy general manager and chief engineer, Mr. Zhou Dalin have signed an agreement which allows Chabridge to integrate Zi Corporation’s eZiText™ technology into their mobile phone products.

"By embedding our eZiText™ technology in Simplified Chinese and English, Chabridge will be able to create a mobile phone product with intuitive short messaging capability."
Short Messaging Services (SMS) is gaining popularity in China. The number of short messages sent via China’s service providers is expected to grow dramatically over the next year. eZiText™ is a predictive text-input solution that guides users to intended words with a minimum of key presses. As an embedded software technology, eZiText™ can be used in almost any device which requires text-input and is available in 27 languages including Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.
