Zi bridges the device to the network with eZiNet™
eZiNet extends the power of mobile devices by making information available from the network
Calgary, AB (February 20, 2002) - Zi Corporation (NASDAQ: ZICA) (TSE: ZIC), a leading provider of intelligent interface solutions, today announced the next generation of its user interface technology, eZiNet™, a new client/server platform that is easily expandable to include new applications and content. eZiNet is designed to make wireless devices more user-friendly and better suited to the individual users' needs. eZiNet will allow users to: access more data-intensive information contained on a network than would traditionally be available in a memory-constrained, hand-held device; select information they want to view rather than receiving information a content provider thinks they want; and, download desired information to their device for future use.
Zi is demonstrating the eZiNet™ platform at booth #E39, Hall 2 at the 3GSM World Congress, Palais des Festivals et des Congres, La Croisette BP 272, 06403 Cannes, France from February 19 - 22, 2002.
With Zi's eZiNet client/server platform, device manufacturers and operators will be able to provide a more personalized and powerful experience to users and create differentiated services from their competitors by adding new applications and content.

With eZiNet, device manufacturers and operators will be able to increase the usability of information for their users beyond simply language on a device to include data on networks and across applications. Users looking to access highly relevant information on a small form factor device need not get lost wading through the abundant menus and information available to them. The device will learn from the user rather than the user having to adapt to the device.
The first eZiNet application module to be released by Zi Corporation is MyLingo™, which provides users with tailored texting lists that can quickly and easily be downloaded to their device. With MyLingo, personal and enterprise-style communications are supported: teens can download the latest messaging lingo, and enterprises can make corporate directories and e-mail lists available for their personnel. After receiving a new word list in the device, eZiText will predict the MyLingo additions along with static database candidates to accelerate text input.
