Zi Achieves Wind River Tornado Certification


Certification allows Zi and Wind River to jointly address user interface challenges in the set top box and consumer electronics space

CALGARY, AB (May 13, 2002) - Zi Corporation (NASDAQ: ZICA) (TSE: ZIC), a leading provider of intelligent interface solutions, announced that Wind River Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: WIND) has certified Zi's eZiText® predictive text input solution. This certification assures customers of seamless integration of eZiText into Wind River's Tornado® integrated development environment (IDE) and VxWorks® real-time operating system (RTOS).

As an Associate level partner of Wind River's WindLink Partner Program, Zi has now successfully completed Wind River's compatibility requirements to obtain this certification. eZiText has been certified on Tornado 2.0/ VxWorks 5.4 for x86 targets. This certification will benefit consumer electronics manufacturers through easier implementation of Zi's embedded technology in set top boxes and other consumer electronic devices.
