Enhanced Japanese input now available with eZiText™ Japanese version 4.5
Tokyo, Japan (July 18, 2001) - Zi Corporation (NASDAQ: ZICA) (TSE: ZIC) launches the newest version of eZiText™ Japanese this week at Expo Comm Wireless Japan. Many mobile messages in Japan now rely on multi-tap input solutions, which require several steps to send even a simple sentence. The Zi approach eliminates the numerous steps required in multi-tap and conversion. As one of the most innovative input systems in the market, eZiText™ Japanese version 4.5 offers multi-modes with one step prediction input and conversion capabilities.
With eZiText™ Japanese’s One Step Direct Kanji input mode, mobile users can save time, as fewer key presses are required. If a mobile user were to enter the message, ‘Thank you very much for yesterday’, using multi-tap Renbunsetsu would take over 40 key presses to complete. Using the One Step Direct Kanji input mode, only 12 key presses are required, made possible by the prediction and Tanbunsetsu conversion capabilities of eZiText™ Japanese.
