Zi's eZiText™ extends the Pixo OS Platform

Calgary, AB (November 29, 2000) - Zi Corporation (NASDAQ: ZICA) (TSE: ZIC) and Pixo have signed a global agreement to offer eZiText™ as an extension of the Pixo OS Platform. The agreement allows wireless manufacturers the option to integrate eZiText™ with other applications available on Pixo's platform.

"Zi is dedicated to furthering the development of intelligent interface solutions across a variety of platforms," says Gary Kovacs, president, Zi Corporation. "The fusion of eZiText™ with Pixo's platform allows manufacturers to develop products that provide natural interaction between users and their handheld devices."

When combined, eZiText™ and the Pixo OS Platform make it easier for users to update calendar appointments and send e-mails on a wireless phone. eZiText™ guides users to intended words without including confusing or non-sensical word choices, providing an intelligent user interface for any application which requires text-input. The Pixo OS Platform is hardware and protocol independent, and can be integrated across a variety of 32-bit microprocessors and protocol stacks. The modular nature of the Pixo OS Platform permits rapid integration of technologies, such as Zi's eZiText™ input solution.

"Ease-of-use continues to be critical for the adoption of any new technology," said Rich Rifredi, vice president, Marketing, Pixo, Inc. "Pixo and Zi Corporation make it easy for phone manufacturers to develop wireless phones with simplified interfaces and to launch these phones quickly into the marketplace."
